 Sky
Valley is located in Northeast Georgia just across
the border with a population of only about 230
permanent residents. This beautiful mountain valley
is surrounded by gorgeous waterfalls and lush
forests, along with several lakes and a golf course.
Some of the mountain ridges surrounding Sky Valley
reach 4,200 feet, while the official elevation of
the town itself is 3,297 feet.
The Sky Valley Resort and Country Club opened their
golf course to play in 2007 and offers 6,901 yards
of playable course with some of the most fantastic
views you will see at any golf resort in the

Mountains. Sky Valley is only about 15 minutes away

Dillard GA was first settled by Captain Jon Dillard
in 1794 after the American Revolution. Legend tells
that he made peace with the local tribe of Cherokee
Indians with the gifts of a muzzle loading rifle, a
jar of apple brandy, a coonskin cap, and $3.00 in
exchange for all the land between two mountain tops.
The area remained remote for a time because the
rugged mountains surrounding Dillard made travel
difficult. By 1905, however, the town was
thriving with a blacksmith shop, a livery stable,
two general stores, a cobbler, an open air market,
two boarding houses, a church, and a school.
The railroad came to Dillard in 1907 and with it
brought connections to the rest of the world. In
recent years, Dillard has become well known for it's
excellent shopping at local antique and crafts
shops, as well as the picturesque landscape provided
by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
